"I call you to be on your knees in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Haiti, following incredible devastation from a 7.0 magnitude earthquake that has occurred 10 miles to the west of the capital city, Port-au-Prince. As we reach out to the people of Haiti in prayer, I invite all United Methodists in Michigan to give liberally to relief efforts so that food, shelter, medical care, and other services can be provided for those in need. Many of us have personal ties and commitment to the people of Haiti.  The connection of Methodist churches and caring people are a powerful thing. May it be so at this time of great need."
