The Youth Director will provide a well-balanced program for youth that will activate our students to new levels of faith, love, and passion for Jesus.

We want to prepare this generation with the tools and encouragement necessary to step into their destiny as disciples who make disciples.

Spiritual:

        A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by action, attitude and behavior.

        Model the standards and expectations of leaders within our church, including worship attendance, participation in spiritual growth groups, a lifestyle of tithing and generosity, and serving out of a call and giftedness.

        One who is gifted in and called to youth ministry, loves young people, and has passion for evangelism and outreach, both personally and at the ministry level.

        Passion to do ministry with [as opposed to simply to] the community.

        Attend monthly MVIT meetings held on the third Saturday.

 

Ministry to Youth:

        Develop, promote and coordinate a balanced program of activities and discipleship ministry to youth.

        Plan and facilitate weekly youth meetings.

        Involve you in ministry and mission projects.

        Inspire and mentor youth in outreach to reach unchurched youth.

        Develop strong partnership with parents of youth.

   Guidance:

        General direction will be provided by the Staff Parish Relations Committee, with day to day supervision being the responsibility of the pastor.

        A performance evaluation shall take place quarterly during the first year of employment and will then continue annually.

        The Youth Director shall provide an annual written report to the church.

Salary: This is a 10 hour per week, part-time ministry position with compensation commensurate with the experience and skill level of the successful candidate.

 

 

 

Part-time Custodian, Goodrich UMC

Goodrich United Methodist Church is looking for a Church Custodian.  The primary focus of this staff position is to clean and maintain the church facility.  The position is part-time: 30-hours per week throughout the school year (approximately September-May), and 20-hours per week during the summer (approximately June-August).

Goodrich UMC is located in the village of Goodrich, a small town outside of Flint. We are a church that is connected to our community, with an average worship attendance around 170 on Sunday morning.

We are seeking candidates who have:

  •  A high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Knowledge in custodial work and building systems (HVAC, fire alarm, etc.)
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team

OVERVIEW: This position manages and coordinates Clarkston UMC messaging for all church-related communications. Consistently develops and brands Clarkston UMC information to the congregation and community; members and guests. 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency in web design and development
Experience in publication creation, publishing using computerized tools
3-5 years experience/portfolio required
Skills in social network tools 
Ability to communicate clearly in person, via phone and by written means
Interpersonal skills with a variety of staff and laity
Model a strong, vital Christian faith to staff, congregation and community

 
DUTIES:
Establish deadlines for staff and laity for content creation 
Build a comprehensive marketing plan with program staff and key laity 
Establish messaging to reach the community members (print, electronic mediums)
Develop innovative ways to maintain the CUMC brand in all church-related messaging 
Interact with program staff and laity to build a comprehensive marketing plan
Publish press releases, promote events to the congregation and public at large
Develop a process for church-wide messaging (i.e. stewardship campaigns, etc.)

GENERAL SUMMARY

Provide administrative support to the Office Manager and office support for the clergy, staff and congregation.  Assist with the responsibility for the day to day operations of the church office; to assist with the numerous tasks associated with efficient functioning of the church office.  Reports directly to the Office Manager on a day-to day basis, and is evaluated by the Staff Parish Relations Committee, with input from the pastoral staff.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Answer telephones, direct calls and take messages.

Assist with the preparation of the weekly bulletins and announcements

 Assist Office Manager in preparing, copying, addressing and mailing of the bi-monthly newsletter

 Assists Office Manager with organizing and preparing materials for Annual Church Conference.

 Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities

 Maintain and update filing and mailing manually or using a computer.

 Open, sort and route incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail.

 Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems.

 Other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Office Manager.

Worship Music Director

WORSHIP MUSIC DIRECTOR.  First United Methodist in Bowling Green, Ohio is prayerfully searching for the right person to lead our non-traditional worship experiences.  The successful candidate will work from a strong Spiritual foundation to collaborate with pastors and volunteers to lead worshippers to sense the presence of God.  The desired candidate should have a strong background of leadership in non-traditional worship as well as strong vocal and instrumental abilities.  We expect the non-traditional worship director to lead up front.
